Taro Suruga

Taro Suruga is a Japanese actor known for his grounded and emotionally layered performances across film, television, and stage. Based in Tokyo, he has built a strong reputation through major streaming productions and theatrical work, portraying complex characters ranging from corporate professionals to organized crime figures.

Suruga began his acting career in the late 2000s and gained national recognition in 2011 with his performance in the NHK television drama Carnation, where he portrayed the husband of the series’ heroine. Since then, he has continued to develop a versatile career, appearing in numerous films and television dramas in Japan.

In 2015, Suruga starred in his first leading film role in Yumeji, for which he received the Best Actor Award at the Japan Film Festival Los Angeles. His performance established him as a mature and expressive screen presence capable of carrying dramatic narratives.
