Luis Ara was born on 1979 in Houston, Texas, USA. Over the years, he has directed more than 25 feature-length documentaries and series released in theaters as well as on leading international platforms and broadcasters such as Netflix, HBO, ESPN, NatGeo, History, and Prime Video, among others. He is a director, writer and producer, known for Ronaldinho: The One and Only (2026), Higuita: The Way of the Scorpion (2023), Brasil 2002 - Os Bastidores do Penta (2022), Forever Chape (2018) and the TV Series Magical Andes (2019). Currently he lives in Montevideo (Uruguay) where the head office of his production company Trailer Films is located.
