Hamilton Lewis is the Head of Creative at The Third Floor in Los Angeles, where he helps lead creative strategy and innovation across visualization, virtual production, and emerging AI-driven filmmaking workflows for feature film and episodic content.
His work spans both animation and live-action filmmaking, with key creative and supervisory contributions on major productions including Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. His experience ranges from early previs and shot design through on-set virtual production and large-scale action storytelling.
Hamilton began his career at DreamWorks Animation, contributing to films including the Academy Award-nominated How to Train Your Dragon, where he developed a strong foundation in cinematic storytelling, layout, and animation. That animation background continues to shape his approach to live-action filmmaking and real-time production workflows today.
At The Third Floor, Hamilton has helped pioneer next-generation creative pipelines involving real-time visualization, virtual camera systems, and AI-assisted technologies such as Cyclops and generative rendering workflows. He has led teams across Los Angeles and London, combining creative direction with technical innovation to help studios explore new approaches to visual storytelling.
Originally from rural Kansas, Hamilton grew up inspired by films like Back to the Future, Star Wars, and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea-stories that sparked his passion for cinematic worlds without boundaries. He holds a BFA in Computer Animation with a minor in Digital Film from Ringling College of Art and Design, where his short film Cadillac ’59 received a Student Academy Award nomination from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
