German Golub

German Golub is an Estonian film director and screenwriter. He won the Student Academy Award (Gold) in the International Narrative Film category for his short film Mu kallid laibad (2020).

German Golub is known for Mu kallid laibad (2020), Our Erika (2026), and Teie teenistuses (2027).

Born in Pärnu, Estonia, into an Estonian-Slavic family, Golub studied film directing at Tallinn University’s Baltic Film, Media and Arts School. His work spans feature films, short films, documentaries, and commercials, with a particular interest in stories where personal psychology collides with larger social, historical, and cultural forces.
