Andy Blithe is an English actor, filmmaker, producer and director whose work is driven by a passion for independent storytelling and a determination to prove that compelling films don't require huge budgets.
His screen work includes the award-winning feature Buying Time, Diamond Dogs, and the award-winning psychological thriller The Caller, an ambitious one-man film which Blithe not only starred in, but produced entirely without a film crew.
Alongside his narrative work, Blithe is an accomplished documentary filmmaker, with credits including Veganise Me, Heart of a Lion, The Story So Far and No Limits. His films explore real people, challenging subjects and stories of resilience, determination and human experience. Resilience is also central to Blithe's own career. In his late forties, he returned to education to complete a Master's degree in Documentary Filmmaking, demonstrating the same belief that runs throughout much of his work: it is never too late to pursue an ambition or reinvent yourself.
Today, Blithe continues to work across acting, directing, producing and documentary filmmaking, collaborating with other creatives while developing and producing independent films of his own. Known for his commitment, resourcefulness and hands-on approach to filmmaking, Andy Blithe is an independent filmmaker in the truest sense, someone who doesn't wait for permission, a large budget or the perfect circumstances to tell a story. He simply finds a way to make it happen.
