Sarma Melngailis

Sarma Melngailis graduated with degrees in economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and College of Arts and Sciences in 1994. She then worked in investment banking at Bear Stearns, private equity at Bain Capital, and a high-yield fund before leaving the world of finance in 1999 to attend the French Culinary Institute. She opened Pure Food and Wine in 2004 and launched One Lucky Duck in 2005. She lives in New York City and working toward the relaunch of both brands, this time with the benefit of a decade of healing and hard-earned wisdom. She is also producing a new docuseries that aims to set the record straight and usefully shed light on how it is that a smart, successful woman can fall prey to a con artist.
