In 1997, Justin began his career as an animator at Blue Sky Studios. In 2001, he moved to Japan to work as a CG creator at Production I.G on Mamoru Oshii's Innocence: Ghost in the Shell 2 and Kill Bill. In 2005, Justin joined the founding team at Lucasfilm Animation to help create The Clone Wars animated series. He returned to Blue Sky in 2007 to contribute to several animated features.
In 2012, Justin produced the first crowdfunded anime on Kickstarter, Kick-Heart, directed by Masaaki Yuasa. He then helped produce other notable titles such as Adventure Time: Food Chain and Under the Dog. In 2018, Justin founded a new production company, Qubic Pictures, based in Tokyo and New York. That same year, he pitched an original series to Netflix called Eden, which was produced by Qubic and released globally on Netflix in the spring of 2021.
After completing Eden, Justin reunited with Lucasfilm to help launch the new anthology series Star Wars: Visions Vol. 1 as Co-Executive Producer. He served as Executive Producer on the Netflix series Leviathan, directed by Christophe Ferreira and animated by Orange. After that, Justin returned to Lucasfilm to serve as Co-Executive Producer on Star Wars: Visions Vol. 3 and Executive Producer on the upcoming Star Wars: Visions Presents The Ninth Jedi series coming out in 2026.
