Abhirami Bose is an Indian actress working across Hindi, Marathi, and Tamil cinema. She hails from a family deeply rooted in the performing arts, with her mother being a Kathak dancer and her father a Carnatic music professor from Thrissur. Though originally from Thrissur, she grew up in Pondicherry, where she was immersed in classical music and dance from childhood. She completed her graduation from Christ University in Bangalore, where she studied theatre for one year. Her father encouraged her to pursue formal training and suggested she attend the Film and Television Institute of India, a decision that would shape her professional trajectory. While studying at FTII in Pune, she auditioned for and secured the lead role in the Marathi film Rathricha Paus, directed by Shine Ravi, a filmmaker also from Kerala.

Abhirami started her career as a model before transitioning into acting. She played the protagonist Manasi in Rathricha Paus, a character who journeys from a drought-stricken village to Mumbai with her farmer husband in search of a better life. For this performance, she received the Best Actress award at the Global Indian Film Festival in 2020, establishing her as a serious talent early in her career. Following this debut, she expanded her presence in regional cinema before making her breakthrough in mainstream Bollywood. She gained wider recognition with her role in Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022), directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring alongside Alia Bhatt. That same year, she appeared in Faraaz (2022), a gripping thriller directed by Hansal Mehta and based on true events. In 2023, she delivered a powerful performance in Phoenix, a mystery drama where she portrayed Anna Rose. Beyond film work, she gained considerable popularity through her role as Senbagavalli in the Tamil web series Suzhal: The Vortex, appearing in six episodes in 2025. Her approach to selecting roles has consistently leaned toward narratives with depth and complexity, whether in regional or Hindi-language projects.

Abhirami received a nomination for her work, reflecting industry acknowledgment of her craft. She has spoken about her admiration for actors like Parvathy and Shabana Azmi, citing their ability to create characters audiences deeply connect with. She has expressed particular affection for Malayalam cinema, noting that she believes the best regional films in India come from Marathi and Malayalam industries. Though she understands Malayalam well, she has mentioned the need to refine her speaking skills before venturing more fully into Mollywood. Her versatility spans multiple languages and genres, from period dramas to contemporary thrillers, and her screen presence continues to draw attention. With a foundation in classical arts and formal training from one of India's most prestigious film institutes, Abhirami has positioned herself as an actress capable of navigating diverse cinematic landscapes while maintaining an authentic connection to regional storytelling traditions.
