Pedring Lopez

Pedring Lopez is a Filipino writer, director, and producer known for developing internationally focused genre films that connect Asian storytelling with global audiences. As the founder of BlackOps Studios Asia, he develops original film and television properties from concept through production, combining creative leadership with producing, international co-productions, and long-term intellectual property development.

Beginning his career in horror before expanding into psychological thrillers, action, and survival stories, Lopez has built a body of work defined by emotionally driven storytelling, immersive worlds, and morally complex characters. His films explore themes of survival, identity, redemption, and the human cost of violence while remaining accessible to audiences across cultures.

Known for his development-driven approach to filmmaking, Lopez invests extensively in world-building, character development, and production planning long before principal photography begins. He believes that the strongest productions are built through preparation, collaboration, and a shared creative vision, allowing every department to contribute to a unified storytelling experience.

Beyond directing, Lopez actively develops and produces original intellectual property through BlackOps Studios Asia, working with producers, financiers, distributors, and talent across Asia, Europe, Australia, and the Americas. His projects reflect a commitment to creating globally relevant genre films while championing Filipino talent and fostering meaningful international collaboration.

Whether crafting supernatural horror, grounded action thrillers, or psychological suspense, Lopez approaches every project with the same philosophy: compelling stories begin with authentic characters, thoughtful preparation, and a deep respect for the collaborative nature of filmmaking.
