Nick McKinless is a director, action designer, stunt coordinator and writer whose work spans action, thriller, science fiction, and drama. With over 25 years in the film industry, his filmmaking is shaped by a rare, hands-on understanding of physical storytelling, performance, and large-scale production. Nick began his career as a professional athlete and elite stunt performer, learning the craft on set alongside filmmakers including Christopher Nolan, Ridley Scott, Steven Spielberg, Guy Ritchie, Sofia Coppola, the Wachowskis, Zack Snyder, and Michael Bay. That background informs a directing approach rooted in realism, clarity, and emotional consequence-regardless of genre. His feature film Take Cover, starring Alice Eve and Scott Adkins, received strong critical response and achieved notable streaming success, including reaching number one on Hulu following a limited theatrical release. Nick is directing and writing original feature and television projects, as well as continuing to influence the action genre with his 2nd unit and action design work.
